20” x 20” acrylic painting on canvas of a LEGO Classic Space astronaut. I’ve created this painting rather quickly over the course of just a few days. Lately I’ve been trying to focus on more realism in my artwork rather than impressionism, and this particular piece was an exercise in realistic lighting with gradients. I mostly used a combination of paints from Blick, Liquitex, and Artists Loft.

The reference image for this painting was the same LEGO Space minifigure photo I’ve used in the past for creating a graffiti sticker design of four Spacemen heads in a pop-art style arrangement. That particular Quad-Spacemen design can be seen in the window of Just Press Play in Lancaster, PA.
