24”x30” acrylic painting of a classic LEGO Castle Black Falcon knight minifigure. The base of this painting is an acrylic paint pour using two large cups of various paints to create the dual side effect. The top cup was mixed with white and shades of blue, and the bottom cup contained warm colors such as red, yellow, and orange. After the acrylic paint pour dried, I used my camera to take a photo of a LEGO Castle Black Falcon minifigure as a reference image. After that I adjusted the colors and sharpness in Photoshop, and used it as a reference photo for the subject. I used a projector to paint the white basecoat of the shape of the minifigure, and then used a pencil to draw around the basic contours of the subject. Finally with the white base coat and the pencil outlines, I hand-painted the colors with various paints from Liquitex, Master’s Touch, Blick Acrylic, and Artist’s Loft.
