Another prop can label for Reel Splatter‘s “I’m Dreaming of a White Doomsday”, this is the pork & beans can for the bomb shelter sequence.
- The brand name “Log Cabin” along with the contents of pork & beans is an homage to a song I recorded at age 19 with Skot Shaub of Testosteroso. The song was called “Abraham Lincoln”, a heavy metal song with improvised lyrics sung by me. The chorus of the song ends with the line “Abraham Lincoln, baby! I’m from a log cabin, all night long!“, and the second verse contains the line, “Abraham Lincoln, pork & beans!!“. After the song cuts out, I yelled into the microphone “LOG CABIN!!!“
- The address for the fictional company is based on Abraham Lincoln’s real birthplace in Kentucky.
- For the can’s overall design, I based it off a can of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup
- Notice the kosher symbol on the botttom right of the can’s front: kosher pork & beans? Oh Baron von Brunk, you’re silly.
